BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The No. 13-ranked Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team won for the eighth straight time, taking a three-set decision over Millikin in front of a Homecoming crowd at the Shirk Center on Friday, Oct. 5.
Illinois Wesleyan won by scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-15.
The Titans improved to 13-5 overall and 4-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and Millikin slipped to 9-11 overall and 1-3 in the CCIW. The school record for consecutive wins is 11, set in 1988.
Senior
Tyler Brown had 18 digs and 15 kills while senior
Rachel Burkman had five blocks and six kills.
Freshman
Madi Corey had five service aces and led the Titans with 17 assists and freshman
Bev Ryan added five kills and had four blocks along with senior
Heidi Dague.
Senior
Leah Seielstad provided 16 assists and had nine digs and freshman libero
Amber Juarez made 11 digs in the win.
Illinois Wesleyan had 36 kills, tying a season low, with 15 errors in 109 efforts for a .193 hitting percentage. The Big Blue hit .088 for the match with 33 kills and 23 errors in 113 attempts.
