MEQUON, Wis. -- The No. 15-ranked Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team set a school record with its 12th straight victory in a three-set decision over the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in the first game of the Concordia (Wis.) Invitational at the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse in Mequon, Wis., on Friday, Oct. 19.
Winning by scores of 26-24, 25-11, 27-25, the Titans improved to 17-5 overall, topping the old mark of 11 straight wins set in both 1988 and 1991. The Falcons fell to 12-17.
Senior
Tyler Brown had 13 kills and 19 digs and senior
Rachel Burkman added 11 kills with 12 digs as the Titans had a .250 hitting percentage for the match with 48 kills in 120 attempts with 18 errors.
Freshman libero
Amber Juarez made 16 digs. Senior
Leah Seielstad gave out 23 assists and freshman
Madi Corey had 16 assists and joined Burkman with two service aces.
What's Next?
On Saturday (Oct.20) Illinois Wesleyan plays the host school, Concordia University, at 11 a.m. and then plays at 1 p.m. against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
