ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team claimed its first win of the season, a five-set decision (3-2) over No. 8-ranked Washington U. at the WU Field House in St. Louis.
The Titans, who improved to 1-3 this season, won by scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-16, 21-25, 15-12. WashU slipped to 2-2.

Tyler Brown led the Titans with 17 kills with 13 digs while junior
Rachel Burkman had 11 kills and 14 digs. Freshman setter
Caitlin Meyer had a team-high 32 set assists and senior
Kyleigh Block had 19 assists along with eight kills.

Jessica McCall paced the Titans with 28 digs with senior
Maisy Bowden and junior
Maddie Williams leading the way with five total blocks each.
The Titans hit .217 for the five sets, making 56 kills in 152 attempts with 23 errors. The Bears had 60 kills in 175 tried with 34 miscues and a .149 hitting percentage.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan plays three games in the Barker Classic I this weekend, opening with an 8 p.m. game Friday against Ohio Northern. IWU meets Aurora (11 a.m.) and DePauw (2 p.m.) on Saturday.
