BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- After losing the first set, the Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team took the next three to claim a four-set win over No. 25-ranked Ohio Northern at the Shirk Center on Friday, Sept. 8 in the Barker Classic I.
The Titans won by scores of 22-25, 25-15, 26-24, 25-17 and improved to 2-3. Ohio Northern is 3-2.
Junior
Tyler Brown led the Titans with 17 kills with junior
Rachel Burkman adding 16 and senior
Kyleigh Block 11. Junior
Maddie Williams had seven total blocks to pace Illinois Wesleyan, who hit .212 in the four-set match with 60 kills in 170 attempts with 24 errors. Ohio Northern had a .116 hitting mark with 47 kills in 173 tries with 27 errors, including 11 in the fourth set.
Titan freshman
Caitlin Meyer had 48 set assists, tied for 10th most in a four-set match in IWU single game history, and freshman
Jessica McCall led the way with 23 digs with Brown adding 21 and Burkman got 19.
What's Next?
In day two of the Barker Classic I, Illinois Wesleyan plays Aurora at 11 a.m. and DePauw at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Shirk Center.
