BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The 10th meeting in the Horenberger-Bass Classic pitting Division III Illinois Wesleyan baseball against Division I Illinois State will be renewed at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at ISU's Duffy Bass Field.

Illinois State leads the Horenberger-Bass Classic series, 7-2, and has an 86-70 advantage in the all-time series dating back to 1890.
The game was rained out last year with IWU leading 3-0 in the second inning. The game has suffered from weather woes, having been rained out in 2009, 2011, 2012 along with last season.
The "Classic" began in 2004 and alternates between Duffy Bass Field and Horenberger Field each year.
Horenberger, the former Illinois Wesleyan baseball coach, posted a 37-year record of 509 wins against 401 losses (.559) with five ties at the helm of the Titan baseball program from 1942-81.
From 1964-88, Bass compiled a 713-457-18 record and by his third season with the Redbirds, the team made its first of five-straight trips to College Division (now Division II) postseason play. In 1969, his team finished 33-5 and won the national title, the only national crown won by an ISU team to date.
