MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Senior
Maggie Krause and sophomore
Sara Dust each scored four goals to help the Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team to a 14-5 win over Berry College at Mason Field in Memphis, Tenn., on Sunday, Feb. 19.
The Titans even their record at 1-1 this season and the Vikings fell to 1-3.
In addition to Krause and Dust, IWU got two goals each from sophomores
Dani Engelbreit and
Grainne Kelly, and freshman
Amanda Best.
Junior goalkeeper
Claire Quist made 13 saves in the game that was tied at halftime 4-4 before IWU took over offensively and outscored Berry 10-1 in the second half.
Along with her four goals, Krause provided two assists. Engelbreit had five ground ball pickups and Dust had four as IWU held an 18-12 advantage. The Titans also had 12 draw controls to nine for the Vikings, who were led by Kelley Ayers with two goals and four ground balls.
Berry College is the alma mater of assistant coach
Claire Rosenberg ('15) who's in her first season at Illinois Wesleyan. Rosenberg is the career assists leader at Berry with 96.
