ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The 2017-18 Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's swimming seasons opened with a dual meet against Division I Illinois State and Division II Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The Titan men lost to Lewis, 159-43, while the IWU women lost to Lewis, 156-45, and to Illinois State, 172-31.

Jordan Miller claimed a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.70 seconds while Rob Houle picked up two third place finishes - in the 100 freestyle (50.08) and 50 freestyle (22.57) - and Will Garcia got third in the 500 freestyle (5:16.85).

For the IWU women, Lisa Cheng had a third place finish in the 100 freestyle in a time of 55.53.

What's Next?
The teams will swim next in the IWU Halloween Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at Fort Natatorium.
