BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The No. 11-ranked Illinois Wesleyan football team rallied with 13 second half points to earn a 13-10 defensive battle over Carthage College at Tucci Stadium in Bloomington on Saturday, Oct. 21.
The Titans improved to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and the Red Men fell to 5-2 this season and 3-2 against the league.
The Titans trailed 10-0 at halftime and were limited to 86 yards on 29 plays. IWU got their first score when junior
Chase Bandolik recovered a punt blocked by sophomore
Dave Lux in the end zone for a touchdown with 10:04 to play in the third quarter.
Sophomore
Brandon Bauer completed 14 of 26 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown, a 16 yard pass play to sophomore
Zach Walsh with 5:57 to play in the third quarter. Walsh led IWU with 96 receiving yards on a team-high six catches.
The Titans finished with 210 yards of total offense (205 passing, 5 rushing) while the Red Men amassed 304 total yards (252 passing, 52 rushing). Junior
Morgan Alexander was limited to 19 net rushing yards on 22 carries.
Senior linebacker
Jordan Hassan again paced the Titans with nine total tackles while
Nico Gubenko added eight totsal stops, teaming up with senior
Justin Krzeczkowski on a quarterback sack. Junior end
Eric Dubose also had a quarterback sack for -7 yards and made six tackles and junior
Trevor Staley had five total tackles and made a key interception to snuff a potential Red Men final minute drive.

The Titans face Elmhurst at 1 p.m. at Langhorst Stadium in Elmhurst next Saturday, Oct. 28.
