BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The No. 11-ranked Illinois Wesleyan football team posted its second shutout of the season in winning a 30-0 decision over Carroll in the annual Homecoming game at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The Titans, who allowed only 4 rushing yards in the win, improved to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Pioneers fell to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
The Titans led by only a 7-0 score at halftime as the Pioneers racked up a 139-115 advantage in total offense. But the Titans defense held Carroll to only 61 total yards in the second half while amassing 270 yards and scored 23 second half points.
The Titans finished with 385 yards of total offense (137 rushing, 248 passing) to 200 (4 rushing, 196 passing) for the Pioneers. Senior linebackers

Josh Akin each had eight total tackles with Hassan making an interception with a 29-yard return and had a quarterback sack.

Brandon Bauer was 16 of 25 for 228 yards with touchdown passes to sophomore

Liam Keffer. Healy led IWU with seven receptions for 72 yards.
Junior
Morgan Alexander rushed for a 14-yard score for the only TD in the first half and finished with 87 yards on 24 carries.
Making his first start, Carroll freshman quarterback Michael Johnson completed 24 of 35 passes for 196 yards but threw two interceptions and was sacked six times.
What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan is at home against next Saturday for a 1 p.m. game against Carthage ... The Red Men are 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the CCIW after a 31-8 win at home over Elmhurst. The game had a more than one hour weather delay in Kenosha, Wis. ... In the win, junior Lafayette McGary rushed for 134 yards and sophomore Jamel Davis had 104 on the ground for the Red Men.
