STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- Despite sophomore
Tyler Brown equalling her career high with 25 kills, the Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team had its nine-game winning streak ended with a 3-1 loss to Wis.-Eau Claire on Friday, Sept. 23, at the WIAC/CCIW Crossover Tournament in Stevens Point, Wis.
The No. 16-ranked Titans fell by scores of 26-24, 19-25, 25-18, 25-21. IWU is now 9-2 while Wis.-Eau Claire improved to 13-2.
Junior
Kyleigh Block had 10 kills with 15 digs and sophomore
Rachel Burkman and junior
Anne Cummings each added six kills.
Senior
Colleen Rynne led Illinois Wesleyan with 25 assists and freshman
Kira Jackson had 16. Senior
Alexa Cornish had 20 digs with Rynne getting nine and Jackson eight.
Brown, who also had 11 digs against the Blugolds, has also had 25 kills in matches vs. William Woods this year and Wis.-Oshkosh in 2015.
What's Next?
The Titans meet two top 20-ranked opponents at the Stevens Point tournament on Saturday. IWU plays No. 11 Wis.-Stevens Point at 12 p.m. and No. 19 Wis.-LaCrosse at 4 p.m.
