NAPERVILLE. Ill. – The No. 16-ranked Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team rallied from a first set loss to win the next three and take a 3-1 win over North Central at Gregory Arena in Naperville on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Tonight's scores were 13-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.
 
Off to the best 10-game start in school history at 9-1, Illinois Wesleyan won for the ninth straight time and went to 1-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Cardinals are 8-5 overall and 0-1 in the CCIW.
 
Illinois Wesleyan improved one spot to No. 16 in the new weekly 
American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III rankings, the highest ever attained by an IWU volleyball team. Elmhurst and Millikin are Nos. 23 and 24 in the poll.
 
Against North Central, sophomore 
Tyler Brown led the IWU attack with 13 kills while junior 
Kyleigh Block added eight. Juniors 
Maisy Bowden and 
Anne Cummings had five kills each along with sophomore 
Heidi Dague, who led the team with three total blocks.

Alexa Cornish each had 12 defensive digs while senior 
Colleen Rynne (19) and freshman 
Kira Jackson (13) paced the team in assists.
Illinois Wesleyan hit .137 in the four-set match with 39 kills in 124 attempts with 22 errors while the Cardinals hit .139 with 46 kills with 27 errors in 137 total attacks.
 
What's Next?
The Titans will play this weekend in the CCIW crossover tournament with the Wisconsin intercollegiate Athletic Conference in Stevens Point, Wis. IWU meets Wis.-Eau Claire on Friday ay 7 p.m., No. 11 Wis.-Stevens Point at 12 p.m. Saturday and No. 19 Wis.-LaCrosse Saturday at 4 p.m.
