BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The No. 17-ranked Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team swept Webster University by scores of25-12,27-25,25-14 at the Shirk Center on Thursday, Sept.15.
The Titans, who have achieved the highest ranking ever for an IWU volleyball team in the national AVCA Division III polls, improved to 8-1 while the Gorloks slipped to 7-3 and ended a three-game winning streak.
IWU was led by the 11 kills each from sophomore Tyler Brown and
Rachel Burkman with junior
Anne Cummings adding eight.
Senior
Alexa Cornish had 12 defensive digs and Brown added nine with freshman
Kira Jackson getting eight.
Senior
Colleen Rynne led IWU with 20 assists and Jackson provided 13. Sophomore
Heidi Dague paced Illinois Wesleyan with five total blocks.
The 2016 Titans are 8-1 for the first time since the 2006 team started with a 8-1 mark. Other quick starts for IWU teams:
