AURORA, Ill. -- Scoring six goals in each half, the Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team won their fifth road game of the year with a 12-8 victory over Aurora University at Vago Field in Aurora, Ill. on Tuesday, March 22.

The Titans are now 7-1 overall, matching last year's win total, while the host Spartans fell to 1-5 overall.

IWU fell behind early in the contest, trailing 6-2 with 9:05 remaining in the first half following a 4-0 Aurora run. Illinois Wesleyan closed out the half by scoring four goals including one with 17 seconds left in the half to tie the game at six heading into halftime. In the second half, both teams scored twice in the opening six minutes of the half to stay tied at eight with 24:23 remaining in the game before IWU turned up the defensive intensity.
