Titan Women's Lacrosse Scores 22-4 Win over Ferrum

FERRUM, Va. -- After losing their first game of the season on Saturday, the Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team bounced back in a big way with a 22-4 win over Ferrum College at W.B. Adams Stadium in Ferrum, Va., on Tuesday, March 15.

The Titans are now 5-1 on the year while the Panthers slipped to 3-6 overall.

Illinois Wesleyan scored the first three goals of the game and took a commanding 8-1 lead with 8:26 left in the first half. Ferrum would add a goal with 4:54 remaining in the first period before IWU would take a 10-2 halftime lead.

The second half saw more of the same as Illinois Wesleyan jumped out and scored eight goals in the first 15 minutes of action and well on their way to victory. IWU would add four more goals while only allowing two goals in the second half to set a school-record for goals in a game.

Five Titans scored multiple goals in the game led by Clarke Rich and Abby Kushina with five goals each. Claudia Richman would find the back of the net three times while Lauren Pavich and Sam Bidlack each netted two goals.

Sophomore Claire Quist picked up the victory in net, playing all 60 minutes while making one save.
