BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead, got scoring from 13 players and cruised to a 33-point men's basketball victory over visiting MacMurray College, 87-54, at the Shirk Center on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
The win is the fourth this season against no losses for IWU while the Highlanders have lost all four of their games.
Illinois Wesleyan, who led 50-25 at intermission, made 17 3-pointers and tied a school record with 39 3-point attempts for a .436 percentage. The mark was set against Austin on Nov. 29, 2014. IWU shot .465 in the game (33 of 71) but struggled at the foul line, sinking just four of 12.

Brady Rose, who knocked in his first four 3-point attempts, led four Titans in double figures with 15 while junior
Jaylen Beasley added 12 and senior
Andy Stempel and sophomore
Colin Bonnett each scored 10. Beasley went 5 for 5 from the floor with a pair of 3s and led IWU with seven rebounds as the Titans held a 43-30 edge in boards.
The Titans forced 21 turnovers and admitted to 13 and IWU handed out 20 assists on their 33 baskets. Illinois Wesleyan's largest lead was 42 points at 83-41 with 7:17 remaining in the game. Of the 13 players who scored for IWU, eight made 3-pointers.
Brent Long had 12 points and seven rebounds for MacMurray.

Illinois Wesleyan will plays its first road game of the 2016-17 season, facing the preseason No. 8-ranked Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. ET in Delaware, Ohio ... The Bishops are 2-1 with wins over Albion (91-77) and Trine (79-72) to win the St. Andrews Products Classic (hosted by Trine) and suffered an 82-76 loss at home to Capital on Tuesday night. In that game, Ohio Wesleyan led 42-40 just after halftime but trailed by as many as 17 (78-61) with 3:28 left in the game.
