Box Score 2 ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team split a pair of games against Augustana on Saturday, April 18 at Swanson Stadium in Moline, Ill., rallying from a 5-0 deficit to win by a 7-5 score in 10 innings in game one before losing 8-5 in the nightcap.
Illinois Wesleyan is 20-8 overall and 10-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings are 21-10 overall and 7-7 in CCIW action.
In game one, IWU spotted the Vikings five runs in the first inning but the Titans scored single runs in the second and fifth, got three runs in the eighth to tie the game at 5-5 and plated two in the 10th to gain the win. Sophomore catcher 
Pat Mollo had three hits, including a home run, while freshman third baseman 
Gino Cavalieri, freshman designated hitter 
Mike Plecki, junior leftfielder 
Adam Glogovsky and sophomore rightfielder 
Nick Huskisson each had two hits, all singles.
Senior 
Dan Truesdale (1-0) got the win in relief, working two scoreless, hitless innings. Senior starter 
John Munyon went seven innings and allowed 13 hits and five earned runs, striking out five and walking none.
In the second game, Augustana again jumped on the Titans early with four runs in the second. IWU closed to within a pair, trailing 5-3 going to the sixth before tying the game at 5-5 on a two-run single by senior centerfielder 
Tim Coonan that scored Plecki and shortstop 
Jarrod Juskiewicz, who had reached on a walk and single, respectively. But the Vikings scored two in the bottom of the sixth and added one on the seventh to seal the win.
Junior first baseman 
Matthew Mardis had three hits and senior second baseman 
Derek Idstein and 
Tim Coonan each had two hits in the 11-hit IWU attack, all singles.
IWU senior starter 
Matt Hart was touched for five runs (three earned) on 10 hits in five innings and sophomore 
Sean Coonan (2-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in 1/3 of an inning.
What's Next?The Titans and Vikings will play a 1 p.m. single game at Horenberger Field in Bloomington on Sunday, April 19.
