Titan Offense Held in Check in 18-4 Loss at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team fell behind 5-1 and couldn't recover in an 18-4 loss at Albion College on Saturday, March 21.

The Titans are 5-3 overall while the Britons improved to a perfect 6-0.

Albion scored five of the first six goals of the game and would limit the Titans to only three first half goals while scoring eight of their own. Sophomore Maggie Krause would score two of the three Titan first half goals while Maisie Cox would contribute the other.

The Britons would pick up where they left off to start the second half, scoring the first eight goals of the second half before junior Christine Kim would score her first goal of the season with eight minutes left in the game. Albion would hold IWU scoreless the rest of the way while adding two more goals to end the game at 18-4.

The Britons held a commanding 46-10 advantage in shots over the Titans had a 19-5 advantage in draw controls. IWU was guilty of 21 turnovers compared to 16 for Albion and converted one of their two free position shot attempts.


Freshman Jenny Swanson played all 60 minutes in goal for the Titans, making 13 saves.
