Box Score 2 ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team took the offense to win a pair of games on Saturday, March 21, topping Concordia Chicago 6-2 and banging out 19 hits to top Washington U. 12-9 in games played in St. Louis, Mo.
With the two wins, Illinois Wesleyan improves to 7-3 and the Cougars are 6-7 and the Bears had their eight-game winning streak ended and slipped to 10-4.
The Titans scored single runs in the first, fifth and eighth and got three in the second inning on a two-out, bases loaded double by senior second baseman 
Derek Idstein to put the game out of reach.
 
Sophomore shortstop 
Jarrod Juskiewicz led off the second with a single and junior leftfielder 
Adam Glogovsky reached on a bunt single. Freshman third baseman 
Gino Cavalieri advanced the runners with a sacrifice and freshman catcher 
Ryne Elvers was hit by a pitch to load the bases. After a fielder's choice eliminated Juskiewicz at the plate, Idstein smacked his doubled to left center.
 
Sophomore 
Jonathan Vlk (2-0) got the win in relief, pitching three scoreless innings, striking out two and walking one. Senior 
Matt Hart was the starter and lasted four innings, allowing two runs on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Sophomore 
Louis Acklin and senior 
Dan Truesdale each worked a scoreless inning in relief.
 
In the second game, Idstein had five hits (four singles and a double), junior first baseman 
Matthew Mardis had three hits and three RBI, and Juskiewicz had three hits.
Sean Coonan got the win, turning in two scoreless innings after Washington U. has jumped out to a 7-2 lead after two innings. Coonan allowed two hits and had a strikeout. 
Pat Domke worked 4 2/3 innings, Acklin threw 1/3 of an inning and Truesdale collected his third save of the season by working a one-hit scoreless ninth frame.
What's Next?On Sunday, the Titans will meet Concordia Chicago at 11 a.m. in St. Louis (at Washington U.) before traveling a few miles northeast to Sauget, Ill., for a 3 p.m. game against Webster University.
