Titans Bounce Back with 13-10 Road Victory

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team picked up a 13-10 road win at Oglethorpe University on Tuesday, March 10 in the second of their three-game spring break road trip.

The Titans improved to 4-1 in their innaugural season while the Stormy Petrels fell to 1-5 on the year.

Junior Lauren Pavich was one of seven Titans in scoring column, leading the team with three goals. Maisie Cox, Clarke Rich, Abby Kushina and Maggie Krause each had two goals while Karli Kulhanek and Sydney Allen each recorded their first goals of the season.

Pavich also assisted on three goals in addition to picking up two ground balls.

Freshman Claire Quist played all 60 minutes in goal and made 14 saves.

Oglethorpe held a 24-22 advantage in ground balls and a 15-10 advantage on draw controls. IWU scored the first two goals of the game and took a 6-4 lead into the locker room at halftime before scoring the first three goals of the second half to extend their lead to 9-4. The Stormy Petrels would close the gap to 11-9 with 5:36 left in the match before the Titans would add two insurance goals while allowing one more Oglethorpe goal for the 13-10 victory.

What's Next?
The Titans finish up a three-game road trip by playing at undefeated Sewanee University First draw from Puett Field will take place at noon on Friday, March 13.
