BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Getting 41 points from bench players and shooting over 50 percent for the game, the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team breezed to a 76-44 win over North Central at the Shirk Center on Saturday, Feb. 7.

With its fourth straight win, Illinois Wesleyan improves to 17-5 overall and holds first place with a 9-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin record. The Cardinals, after an OT win over Augustana earlier in the week, are now 16-6 overall and 6-5 in the league.

The first half had two ties and three lead changes before IWU took command with a jumper by senior Pat Sodemann with 12:31 remaining in the half to get a 12-11 lead and never trailed after that. The Titans went into the locker room on a long 3-pointer by senior Dylan Overstreet and a 33-17 lead.

The Titans, who outrebounded the Cardinals 38-30, had their largest lead of 32 points at 74-42 and at 76-44 (the final). The Titans committed 10 turnovers while North Central had 14 and IWU scored 20 points off those miscues.

The Titans host Augustana (18-4 overall, 8-3 CCIW) in a critical conference battle at the Shirk Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. The Vikings were 60-29 winners at home over Carthage on Saturday.
