BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan made a halftime lead stand up and took advantage of 34 turnovers in an 83-76 win over Millikin at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, Feb. 4.Â
IWU improved to 9-12 overall and 3-7 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Big Blue slipped to 13-8 overall and 4-6 in the league.Â
The Titans trailed 24-20 with 9:09 to play and were behind 27-25 with 7:42 before halftime befor going on a seven point run to take a 31-27 lead and never trailed the rest of the game, building up a 42-35 halftime advantage.
IWU led by as many as 12 at 75-63 with 2:53 remaining in the game but the Big Blue cut the lead down to four points at 78-74 with 40 seconds lett and 80-76 with 24 seconds left, but each time two free throws by sophomore
Amanda Kelly extended the Titan lead to six. Kelly finished 4-of-4 from the line.

The Titans committed only nine turnovers and scored 35 points off the 34 Big Blue miscues. Millikin did hold a 41-28 lead in rebounds in the game and scored 44 points in the paint compared to 30.
