Titans Win First-Ever Women's Lacrosse Game, 11-3

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - In the first game in school history, the Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team scored seven first half goals and went on to a 11-3 win over Cornell College at Tucci Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 21.

In the season opener for both teams, the Rams outshot the Titans 23-19 and held a 9-7 advantage in draw controls. IWU held a 25-14 lead in ground balls over Cornell College.

Sophomore Maggie Krause and Freshman Clarke Rich each scored four goals for IWU, while Maisie Cox recroded two goals and Abby Kushina added one. Cox led the Titans with two assists along with junior Lauren Pavich.

In 60 minutes of work, freshman goalkeeper Claire Quist made 10 saves and allowed three goals.
