Box Score WHEATON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team saw its shooting struggles continue in a 72-46 loss at No. 16 Wheaton at King Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

With the loss the Titans are now 8-11, and 2-6 in the CCIW on the season, while the Thunder improve to 17-2, 7-1. Wheaton swept the regular season series for the second time in the past three seasons after the Titans won all three games played against the Thunder last season.Â

IWU jumped out to their largest lead of the game midway through the first half at 19-10 off a
Shelby Gray three-point basket with 7:48 left to go in the first half. Wheaton would then battle back throughout the rest of the first period before trailing Ill. Wesleyan 26-25 at Intermission. Freshman
Molly McGraw would lead all scorers at the half with nine points and three steals.Â

Wheaton would outscore the Titans 47-20 in the second half, thanks in part to a 30-17 advantage on the glass in the second half. After shooting only .357 (10-28) percent from the field in the first half, IWU's struggles would carry over to the second half which saw the Titans shoot only .240 (6-25) from the field.Â

The Thunder held a 41-29 advantage on the glass over the Titans, and benefited from 23 points off of 21 IWU turnovers. IWU forced Wheaton into 26 turnovers and had 23 bench points compared to 20 for the Thunder.
