IWU vs. Washington U. Dual Meet Results, April 29, 2014SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's golf team lost a dual match to No. 1-ranked Washington University in St. Louis by a score of 319-332 in the IWU-WUSTL Dual at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill. on Tuesday (April 29) afternoon.
The Titans shot a 332 and were led by junior
Amy Seter, who tied for second overall with a round of 7-over par 79. Washington U. sophomore Connie Zhou led the field with a 5-over par 77 (+5) in the 18-hole dual match on a chilly and windy day.
Michelle Schoch had an 82 and finished sixth while
Ali Stevenson carded an 85 and was eighth.
"Pins were tough today at Panther Creek with most in front or tucked downwind," said IWU head coach
Kathy Niepagen. "Four of our six players were rusty coming off of finals on Monday.
Amy Seter and
Michelle Schoch played well."
Selections for the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship will be announced Monday, May 5, at 5 p.m. The tournament will be held Tuesday-Friday, May 13-16 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
