Swim Teams Split with Rose-Hulman

IWU vs. Rose-Hulman Swimming/Diving Results

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's swimming and diving team defeated Rose-Hulman, 176-54, but the Rose-Hulman men's team beat IWU, 233.5-58.5, in a dual meet at IWU's Fort Natatorium on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Sophomore Meg Stanley was a three-event winner for the IWU women, claiming the 1000 yard freestyle (11:00.96), the 100 yard freestyle (58.40 seconds) and the 200 individual medley (2:23.34).

Four other Titan women were two-event winners - junior Kirsten Slaughter in the 200 freestyle (2:00.52) and 100 butterfly (1:04.49), sophomore Baylee Hoecker in the 100 (1:05.21) and 200 backstroke (2:19.28), sophomore Alicia Tebo in the 100 (1:13.81) and 200 breaststroke (2:42.12), and junior Lauren Dineen-Griffin in the 50 freestyle (27.56 seconds) and 500 freestyle (5:22.67).

Senior Danielle Owerko was first in the 3-meter diving with a score of 181.95.

The IWU women's team of Hoecker, Tebo, Slaughter and Dineen-Griffin was first in the 200 medley relay (1:59.79) and the team of Hoecker, Stanley, Slaughter and Dineen-Griffin won the 200 free relay (1:45.82).

For the men, sophomore Ryan O'Toole was first in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:18.12) and sophomore Sam Kim won the 50 yard freestyle (23.16 seconds).

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan will host Illinois Institute of Technology and Carthage in a triangular meet next Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. at Fort Natatorium.
