Titans Defeat Millikin in Dual Meet at Home

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After over a month break, the Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's swimming and diving teams each earned victories over Millikin Friday, Jan. 17 evening at Fort Natatorium, taking numerous first-place awards.
 
The men's team defeated the Big Blue, 110-68, while the women's squad finished on top, 159-36.
 
In the women's 200-yard medley relay, IWU took first with a time of 1:59.68 with Baylee Hoecker, Alicia Tebo, Lauren Dineen-Griffin, and Kirsten Slaughter.
 
The Titan women's 200-yard freestyle relay won with a time of 1:45.97 with the squad of Gracie Nafziger, Stephanie Manikas, Neeka Szacilo, and Meg Stanley.
 
Kineen-Griffin (2:03.06) and Nafziger (2:07.34) took first and second, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle. Stanley won the 1,650-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 18:12.16.
 
Manikas (26.36), Szacilo (26.69), and Alicia Tebo (28.56) took first thru third, respectively, in the 50-yard freestyle, while Slaughter finishes first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:18.05.
 
In the 200-yard butterfly, Victoria Bauer won with a time of 2:26.49. The Titan women dominated the 100-yard freestyle, where Meg Stanley finished first in 56.89.
 
Savannah Feher won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:18.71, while Slaughter also won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:18.66. Tebo won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:40.96.
 
The men's 200-yard freestyle relay finished first with Ross Tollefson, Ryan O'Toole, Sam Kim, and Kevin Skrabacz for a time of 1:33.07.
 
O'Toole won the men's 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:26.43, while Marcus Duval won the 200-yard freestyle race in 1:47.81.
 
Kim (23.29) and Andrew Younger (23.40) took one-two in the 50-yard freestyle, while Tollefson won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:06.06.
 
Kim also won the 200-yard butterfly, clocking 2:01.78, while Younger took first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.83. Duval finished atop in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:00.24. Duval also won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:16.25.

The Titans will return to action tomorrow against DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., at 2 p.m. EST.
