IWU Women Soccer Gains Third Straight Victory

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Playing for the third time in the last four days, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team got two goals each from Tillie Bill and Arin Calamari to get a 5-0 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday (Sept. 30) at Neis Field.

The Titans, with their third straight win, improved to 4-5-0 while the Raiders slipped to 5-6-1.

Calamari opened the scoring just 2:14 into the match, then scored again at the 19:00 mark on a header with assists from sophomore Tess Bottorff and junior Hannah Ketterling.

Bill's first goal was at 42:49 as she dribbled around defenders to put the ball in the right side of the net and IWU led 3-0 at the half.

Bill's second goal was at the 62:07 mark and Alice Fontana got her first goal of the season at 70:26 when she headed in a free kick from freshman Sydney Fox.

Junior Zoie Samaan played all 90 minutes in goal for the Titans, making five saves in her second shutout of the week.

Illinois Wesleyan is on the road for the next four games, beginning with a 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 2) encounter at Millikin in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play.
