Results, Millikin vs. IWU Dual Meet, Sept. 30

RACINE, Wis. - In preparation for next weekend's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin meet, the Illinois Wesleyan women's golf team defeated Millikin 350-383 in a dual meet at Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine, Wis., on Sunday (Sept. 30).

The 5909-yard, par 73 course will be the site of the conference championships beginning on Thursday (Oct. 4).

Senior Megan Geraghty carded the low score of the meet with a 7-over par 80, followed by Millikin's Gabbi Schuerman with an 83.

IWU junior Katie Klosterman was third with an 87 and senior Rose Kelly was fourth with an 89.

"Geraghty was great today with three birdies," said IWU head coach Kathy Niepagen. "It is a tight course and the small greens created a lot of visual obstacles. We are playing our CCIW conference tournament here this week so this was a good test for us.  We know what we need to do."

In 2011, Illinois Wesleyan won its 10th consecutive CCIW title by 58 strokes and Klosterman was the tournament medalist at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa.
