WHITEWATER, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-Whitewater midfielder Logan Fye netted two goals against the No. 23 Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team at Fiskum Field Wednesday (Oct. 10) night, handing the Titans their second loss of the season, 2-1.

The IWU (10-2-0) defeat to the Warhawks (6-4-2) is only the second one in 12 games. The Titans previously fell to University of Chicago Sept. 18, 4-0. They are still undefeated in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play.

The two teams were unable to put anything on the scoreboard in the first half, despite a fast paced offense.

However, IWU and UW-Whitewater finally got some action on the board, as three goals were scored in a matter of one minute. Fye was the first to knock the ball in, unassisted, putting the Warhawks ahead, 1-0.

Seconds later, Fye repeated his offensive action, putting one in after one-on-one action against Titan goal keeper Tim Hegwood, taking his team's lead to 2-0.

The twenty seconds between Fye's two goals is the eighth fastest in National Collegiate Athletic Association history when consecutive goals are scored by the same player.

IWU, however, was able to respond exactly a minute after the first goal was scored. Angelo Catalano made the pass to John Pisani, equating in the Titans' only goal of the game.

The two teams tallied 41 fouls, the Titans whistled for 16 and one yellow card.

Hegwood had five saves, while Warhawk goalie Josh Rohde saved eight.

The Titans will resume action Saturday (Oct. 13) against Augustana in Rock Island, Ill., at 7:30 p.m.
