Box Score 2 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost a pair of matches at a tournament in Stevens Point, Wis., on Friday, Sept. 2. The Titans lost to Minn.-Morris in five sets (25-17, 18-25, 25-18, 20-25, 11-15)and the host school in three (19-25, 17-25, 18-25).
"Our passing and defense did a great job in both matches tonight," said IWU head coach
Kim Nelson-Brown. "We struggled to connect offensively which made the difference in the outcome."
Against Minnesota-Morris, freshman
Kinzie Schweigert led the team with 11 kills while sophomore
Stephanie Buhrow added nine and junior
Alex Hill and freshman
Maddie Greybar each had eight. The team had only a .069 hitting percentage.
Sophomore
Erin Wachtel had 38 assists and sophomore
Sarah Blum had a team-best 15 digs. Greybar added 11 digs.
In the loss to the Pointers, Hill paced the Titans with seven kills and Buhrow provided six. The team had 25 total kills and 26 errors in 121 attempts for a negative hitting percentage.
Wachtel had 15 assists nine digs and Blum had 16 digs.
Illinois Wesleyan will meet Marian (Wis.) at 10 a.m. and Ripon at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3.
