ELSAH, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's swimming and diving teams posted wins in a dual meet at Principia on Saturday, Jan. 8. The IWU men were 109-72 winners while the women won by a score of 164-32.
Freshman
Marcus Duval was a triple individual winner for the men, claiming the 100 breaststroke (1:01,15), 100 butterfly (54.50 seconds) and 200 freestyle (1:51.61).
Junior
Mikey Firth was the winner of the 500 freestyle (5:02.44) and the men's 200 medley and 200 free relay teams were also winners.
The IWU women had four double winners - junior
Andrea Peterson won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle (5:29.29),
Angela Lugg took the 200 IM (2:21.03) and the 100 butterfly (1:02.52), freshman
Lizzie Egan won the 100 freestyle (57.18 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:11.22), while senior
Lindsey DeSutter was the winner of the 1 meter (184.65) and 3 meter diving (125.25) competitions.
Sophomore
Brogan Riches won the 1000 freestyle (11:51.62), sophomore
Melissa Graffy won the 50 freestyle (26.45 seconds) and
Dana Marlin was the winner of the 100 backstroke (1:08.61).
