BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Behind three individual wins by
Angela Lugg, the Illinois Wesleyan women's swimming team topped DePauw, 171.5-125.5, while the men's team lost, 180-105, at Fort Natatorium on Saturday, Jan. 22.
Lugg was the winner of the 50 freestyle (25.56 seconds), 100 freestyle (55.41 seconds) and 200 freestyle (1:58.59).
The Titans had three double event winners -
Lindsey DeSutter won both the 1-meter (152.5) and 3-meter diving (178.8),
Andrea Peterson won the 100 backstroke (59.48 seconds) and 200 backstroke (2:09.94), and sophomore
Katie McHugh got first in the 100 butterfly (1:00.65) and 200 butterfly (2:14.10).
Peterson's time in the 100 backstroke was a new Fort Natatorium record.
Freshman
Lizzie Egan won the 100 breaststroke (1:11.48) and both the 200 medley relay team and the 200 free relay team were winners over the Tigers.
For the men's team,
Mikey Firth and
Brent Caras won two events - Firth took the 200 backstroke (1:56.10) and the 100 backstroke (52.82 seconds) while Caras claimed the 50 freestyle (22.70 seconds) and 100 freestyle (49.23 seconds).
Kevin Skrabacz was the winner of the 1000 freestyle (10:36.48) and
Marcus Duval won the 400 individual medley (4:18.08).
