BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost a three-set match at home to Millikin, falling by scores of 18-25, 23-25, 20-25, on Sept. 21. The Titans fell to 6-7 overall and are now 0-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

The Titans got nine kills and a .571 hitting percentage from freshman Stephanie Buhrow, who also had four blocks. Sophomore Alex Hill had seven kills and two blocks and junior Gaby Johnson had four kills and three blocks.
Junior setter Stacy Hassinger provided 22 assists and freshman Sarah Blum led the team's defensive effort with 10 digs.

"In sets two and three, we were down by 7 and 8 points, and battled back but unfortunately cannot finish due to the hole that we put ourselves in early," said IWU head coach Kim Nelson-Brown. "We have to start strong and finish through to the last whistle."

Millikin improved to 11-2 with its 11th straight win and is in a first place tie with a 2-0 conference mark.

Illinois Wesleyan plays Central College at 8 p.m. Friday to begin a three-game tournament in Pella, Iowa, and will resume CCIW action next Tuesday, Sept. 28, at North Central.
