Kozak 10th in 200 Butterly at NCAA Swimming

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Senior Michael Kozak had a time of 1:50.91 to finish 10th in the 200 butterfly at the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.

This year's championships are being held through March 20 at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn., and are hosted by Beloit College and the College of Wooster.

Kozak, who earned seven points with his finish, was also 10th after his preliminary time of 1:51.59. The
champion in the 200 butterfly was Middlebury junior John Dillon in an NCAA Division III record of 1:45.01.

THURSDAY RESULTS

Freshman Katie McHugh and Kozak are the two Illinois Wesleyan swimmers competing in the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.

Neither competitor qualified for the finals in their Thursday events - McHugh finished 36th in the preliminaries of the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.29 seconds as sophomore Logan Todhunter of Williams set an NCAA Division III record with 52.94 seconds.
Kozak had a time of 1:43.47 in the 200 freestyle, the 46th best time in the prelims. Kenyon freshman Ian Stewart-Bates had the low time of 1:38.90.

Kozak will compete in the 200 butterfly with the preliminaries on Friday, March 19 at 10 a.m. and the finals on tap for that evening at 6 p.m.
