Through games of Feb. 18, Illinois Wesleyan senior Katy Seibring ranks No. 36 in career scoring (736 points) and No. 47 in rebounds (280) in school history. Her 65 3-point field goals is No. 21 in IWU records. She is a two-time "Player of the Week" in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin this season and three times in her career. In 2013, she was the team's 'Most Valuable Player" and was named to the first team of the CCIW all-league squad.
A mathematics major at IWU, Seibring won the Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship award, which will pay for her masters’ degree in math education at the College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J. The fellowship involves her teaching inner city high school students for three years.
Katy comes from an Illinois Wesleyan family as her parents, Scott and Stacy, are Wesleyan graduates and her brother, Trevor, is on the IWU men's basketball team along with her cousin, Spencer. Her uncle Steve and aunt Sue are IWU grads along with cousin Sean and her aunt, Jennifer Morgan.


Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan:  Good school and close to home ... free tuition was a pretty good bonus, too

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach:  Coaching Volleyball

The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: Not having a lot of free time 

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? C in Logarithmic Number Theory ... I still couldn’t tell you what the class was about

I’m deathly afraid of ... :  All the guys in New Jersey being like the Situation

Worst habit: Staying up way too late watching Netflix 

Most expensive traffic ticket: Never had one

Language I’d like to learn: Italian

The longest I could survive without my cell phone: Probably a couple of days

One word your mother or father would use to describe you: Competitive

Favorite sports figure: Michael Jordan

My greatest moment in sports was: Winning a national championship

The best player I ever faced was: Any player on DePaul

Worst dresser on my team: Kasey Reaber, I have to hate on the Crocs

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Salad dressing ... who likes salad anyway?

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Jennifer Lawrence

Favorite food: Lasagna

Vegetable I won’t eat: Most of them!

Pepsi or Coke? Pepsi, I don’t think Lexi Baltes would speak to me if I said anything different

Favorite TV shows: “Friends”, “The Office” and “New Girl”

Favorite musical group: Luke Bryan and Chris Brown

Favorite movies: “Hitch” and “Toy Story”

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Julia Roberts

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: “Jon and Katy Plus Not Jon”

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Abraham Lincoln

My dream job would be: Getting paid to travel around the world

Place I’d most like to live: Somewhere warm with a beach

Two things that are tops on my “bucket list”: Travel to Europe and go skydiving

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: My DVD collection, I have about 200 movies
