Illinois Wesleyan senior Stefan Johnson (Williams Bay, Wis., Marian Catholic HS) was chosen earlier this year as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin "Men's Golfer of the Week" for his first place finish at the 150-player Jekyll Island (Ga.) Collegiate Invitational.
As a junior, he finished team-best third in CCIW championships and earned all-conference honors, then placed 54th in the NCAA Division III championships. He recorded a hole-in-one on the 215-yard 15th hole at Piper Glen G.C. in first round of Illinois-Springfield fall tournament on Oct. 2, 2011.
As a sophomore, Johnson was chosen to the Division III PING all-Central Region team as he tied for 65th individually in the NCAA Division III championships and placed sixth in 2011 CCIW tourney.
Majoring in risk management at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Craig Johnson.

Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: I wanted a good education alongside the opportunity to play for a national championship.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Either German or Tax Accounting

The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: The student part.

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? I’d rather not talk about it, but there’s a reason I changed majors.

I’m deathly afraid of ... : Turbulence

Worst habit: Chewing on ice cubes

Most expensive traffic ticket: I was caught speeding in Bull Valley. Anyone who’s from there knows that’s a no-no.

Language I’d like to learn: I just want an Australian accent.

The longest I could survive without my cell phone: Not very long…my girlfriend wouldn’t be very happy with me.

One word your mother or father would use to describe you: Mom said "considerate". Dad said "idiot".

Favorite sports figure: Jack Nicklaus

My greatest moment in sports was: Being a part of the 2011 NCAA national runner-up team. Hopefully that will be trumped this year.

The best player I ever faced was: Kenny Wienckowski. He’s the best range player I’ve ever seen.

Worst dresser on my team: Gabe Aprati, hands down. Lose the skinny jeans man.

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Who knows what Jon Lewis has growing back there.

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Rachel Zane from "Suits"

Favorite food: My mom’s beef tenderloin and mashed potatoes.

Vegetable I won’t eat: I once had to eat an avocado sandwich in the Atlanta airport during lent on the way to a tournament…never again.

Pepsi or Coke? McDonald’s Coke

Favorite TV show: "Suits" and "Swamp People"

Favorite musical group: Hootie & the Blowfish

Favorite movie: "Caddyshack" or "The Greatest Game Ever Played"

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Don’t really care as long as they can actually swing a golf club and it’s narrated by Morgan Freeman.

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: "The Big Break: Bloomington"

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Ben Hogan

My dream job would be: Professional caddy for IWU graduate Dex Reese. We’d win some majors.

Place I’d most like to live: Anywhere with a beach, a golf course and perpetually warm weather.

Two things that are tops on my “bucket list”: 1. Play Augusta National 2. Play Augusta National again.

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: My undergraduate diploma…it wasn’t cheap

Who is the luckiest person in the world? Spencer Groessl. He has it all.

What I miss most about being in the third grade: Milk breaks
