Senior lefthander Matt Aronson (LaGrange, Ill., St. Ignatius HS) is a two-time all-CCIW first team selection and was the CCIW “Pitcher of the Year” in 2007 when he was on the second team of the All-American squads chosen by the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com. Also in 2007 he was a first team ABCA all-Central Region choice and ABCA Central Region “Pitcher of the Year”. Coming into the 2009 season he was third in IWU history with a career 2.66 earned run average, ninth in opponent batting average (.235), fourth in wins (18-1) and seventh in strikeouts (162).
