Senior co-captain P.J. Cummings has a career total of eight interceptions (through games of Oct. 2), tied for 16th in the Illinois Wesleyan football record book. He was a first team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection as a sophomore and second team as a junior.
A business major at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of Mary and Pat Cummings.


Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: I knew I wanted to come to IWU after my overnight football recruiting visit, and it was the right mix of academics and athletics.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Invertebrate Zoology, Calculus III, or Advanced Inorganic Chemistry

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? Got a D in Statistics with Professor Ossella-Durbal … Had to retake it over summer.

I’m deathly afraid of ... : Snakes, the unknown, and the open ocean

Worst habit: Intriquite lies

Most expensive traffic ticket: $120 for speeding for speeding in Michigan

Language I’d like to learn: Parseltongue

Your usual response to “What’s going on?”: "Just living the dream"

Favorite sports figures: Bob Sanders, Ed Reed, and Derrick Rose

My greatest moment in sports was: Interception in double overtime to take IWU to the second round of the NCAA Playoffs my sophomore year

The best player I ever faced was: Retired IWU football standout .. Tommy Muck

Worst dresser on my team: Bret Swango

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Pickles from sophomore year summer

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: No one particular. Can’t go wrong with friends and family. 

Favorite food: If it's good for me, I will probably eat it .. even if it's not, I’ll probably eat it.

Vegetable I won’t eat: Brussel sprouts. Won’t touch the stuff.

Pepsi or Coke?: Coke

Favorite Movie: Too many to name. Anything Denzel you can’t go wrong with.

Favorite TV shows: "How I Met Your Mother", "Family Guy", and "SportsCenter"

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Denzel Washington… He could make it work

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Jesus Christ. Seemed like a really down to earth guy.

My dream job would be: Something that makes me happy and pays the bills.

Place I’d most like to live: California

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: I have had too many bad experiences with eBay to use it again

What I miss most about being in the third grade: The innocence
