Illinois Wesleyan senior shortstop Sam Gudat (Edwards, Ill., Brimfield HS) transferred to IWU after two seasons at Illinois Central College, where she played for teams that finished fourth in both the 2013 and 2014 national tournaments.
As a senior, Gudat led the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a .463 average and was named first team all-CCIW and chosen to the second team of the all-Great Lakes Region squads. As a junior she earned second team all-CCIW honors.
A psychology major at Illinois Wesleyan, Sam is the daughter of Dave and Beth Gudat and she is a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
