Back for his second tour as an Illinois Wesleyan assistant coach is Terry Quakenbush, who previously worked as an assistant at IWU for Tracy Stroyan-Maynard from 1991 to 1995.

With his wife (Maxine), Quakenbush formed the Quack Attack Volleyball Club in 1991. The program grew from 17 players on two teams the first year to over 500 players on 42 teams with 25 coaches by the third year.
He led teams to third place finishes at the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic National Tournament in 1996 and 1998. The club continues to operate as Illini Elite.

At IWU he trained all-conference setters Sue Lammel and Elise LoBue and, with the Quack Attack, he coached former Stanford All-American and two-time U.S. Olympian Oganna Nnamani.

Quakenbush played as a hitter and setter for the Illinois State men's club team from 1986 to 1989 and served as a student assistant for the Redbirds from 1988 to 1989. He was also a head coach at the San Antonio (Texas) Christian Schools from 2001 to 2005.

Terry and his wife, Maxine (McGlaughlin) Quakenbush, have two children, Mackenzie (Micki) and Brady. Maxine is a member of the Illinois State athletic Hall of Fame as a softball pitcher.

Quakenbush is employed as a research statistician with State Farm in Bloomington.
