In 2010-11, Buddy Sodemann is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team.
A 2009 graduate of Westminster College (Mo.) with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, he is pursuing a master's degree in graduate school at Illinois State University.
Sodemann was an assistant men’s basketball coach at Washington
University in St. Louis for the 2009-10 season.
In his career, Sodemann appeared in 81 games during which the team was 65-37. As a senior starter, he averaged 2.7 points per game for a squad that went 20-7 and won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) regular season championship.
He also was a member of the 2009 Westminster varsity golf team.
Sodemann was a member of the Dean’s List and a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. He was also a four-time SLIAC academic all-conference selection.
A 2005 St. Louis Parkway West High School grad, Sodemann was a two-time captain for the Longhorns and earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a senior. He was also a second team all-conference and third team all-Metro selection in water polo.
