    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Bobby Wheet became an assistant men's basketball coach at Illinois Wesleyan University prior to the 2018-19 season.

Prior to coming to IWU, Wheet spent five seasons as a men's basketball assistant coach at Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he spent two years as coordinator of camps and clinics for the Eagles. 

From 2011-13 he was an assistant men's basketball coach and director of strength and conditioning at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. Hartwick won the Empire 8 Conference title in 2012 and earned a bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Tournament.
Wheet's duties at Hartwick included recruiting, designing and presenting scouting reports of opponents and monitoring academic progress and study halls at Hartwick.  He was also the Director of the Hartwick College basketball overnight camp.

Wheet was the assistant men's basketball coach at Knox College from 2008-11, serving as the recruiting coordinator as well as the head junior varsity coach.  Other duties included organizing and implementing team practices, designing and presenting scouting reports and serving as the video exchange coordinator. Wheet also coordinated Knox summer basketball camps and coaching clinic and was the strength and conditioning coach for men's and women's basketball, men's soccer and volleyball.

Wheet was the assistant men's basketball coach at Hartwick in 2007-08 and was a student assistant men's basketball coach at Central College (Pella, Iowa) in 2006-07.  

He served as a camp coach in 2006 for the Tom Crean Marquette University, Bo Ryan University of Wisconsin and Rob Judson Northern Illinois University Basketball Camps.

Wheet earned his bachelor's degree in social science from Central College (Iowa) in 2007 and his master's degree in recreation and sport sciences with a concentration in coaching education from Ohio University in 2011. He completed the Don Meyer Basketball Coaching Academy in 2010 at Northern State University.

A member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Wheet is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He resides in Bloomington, Ill.
