BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team will continue its home slate Wednesday, Sept. 16 against Blackburn College at Neis Field with a 4:30 kickoff.

The Titans are coming off a 2-0 win over Knox College Saturday, Sept. 12. IWU remained scoreless over the Prairie Fire in the first half, but came back to score two goals in the second to post back-to-back shutout wins. The Green and White is now 2-1-1 on the season. 

Senior Matthew Perchik (Glenview, Ill. – New Trier) scored his first goal of the year within the first five minutes of the second half in Saturday's contest. Junior Ben Lyons (Orland Park, Ill. – Carl Sandburg) assisted Perchik to break the deadlock. Junior Gavin Young (Bloomington, Ill. – Central Catholic) scored a late goal for the Titans to close the door on the Prairie Fire. The Titans outshot Knox 35-2 with 16 on target. 

The Green and White face Blackburn where it leads the all-time series 14-3 and 10-2 at home. IWU holds a six-game winning streak over Blackburn, outscoring the Beavers 25-3. Blackburn ended its 2025 season 5-11-1 with a 1-6-1 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record. Blackburn has started its 2026 campaign 2-3-1 with its most recent win over Franklin College at Blackburn Stadium. The Beavers are currently 0-2 on the road.
