CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer team saw four Titans receive All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin accolades, announced by the league office Friday, Oct. 30. Senior Owen Boukalik (Northville, Mich.) was named CCIW Goalkeeper of the Year and earned first team honors alongside classmate Jackson Colman (Pflugerville, Texas-Cedar Park). Junior Ben Lyons (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) and freshman Declan Schuler (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) garnered second team honors. IWU's four selections are the program's most since 2019.

The Green and White ended the eight-game conference slate 5-1-2, earning them the No. 3 seed in the CCIW Tournament. Illinois Wesleyan will host the No. 6 seeded Augustana College Saturday, Oct. 31, to start the postseason.

Boukalik, the first Titan in program history to take home a conference specialty award, sports a 0.49 goals against average, good for eighth-best in the nation. The Northville, Mich. native earned his first career postseason accolade after holding the top spot in the conference in save percentage (0.824) and shutouts. Boukalik posted seven shutouts with 28 saves and boasts an 8-1-3 record on the year.

Colman, the defensive anchor in the Titans' backline, also reeled in his first conference award of his career. Colman tallied  two assists as a center back with three shots and has played a vital part in all seven of IWU's shutouts this year.

Lyons established himself as the Titans' assist merchant, tallying seven helpers with two goals. He is tied for the team-high with 11 points. The Orland Park, Ill. native showed out in CCIW play, assisting on four goals.

In his first season as a Titan, Schuler has started 11 games. The Peoria, Ill. native solidified his stance in the line up, scoring four goals and assisting on three this season. All four of his goals served as game-winners.

Senior Will Eiss (Rockton, Ill.-Hononegah Community) rounded out the Green and White's honorees, as he was named IWU's RESPECT Award recipient.

The No. 3 seeded Titans will host No. 6 Augustana College on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Neis Field to kick off the CCIW quarterfinal contests. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. For more information on tickets, live coverage and live stats, visit CCIW.com.
