KENOSHA, Wis. Four Titans collected their first career wins as the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team completed the first day of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Individual Invitational, Friday, Sept. 11 in Kenosha, Wis.

Freshman Umar Bajwa (Wheaton, Ill.-St. Francis) earned his first collegiate win at No. 1 singles, defeating Diego Silva of Carthage, 8-7 (4) in the consolation semifinals. Joining Bajwa was freshman Tommy Sopko (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township), who also collected a consolation semifinal win over Carroll's Lincoln Gates on the fifth singles flight, winning 8-3. 

At No. 6 singles, freshman Spencer Sauer (Mundelein, Ill.-Mundelein) drove the first-win tally to three with an 8-2 consolation semifinal triumph against Brady Wierzbicki of Carroll. Owen Collins (Boca Raton, Fla.-Grandview Preparatory School) locked in an 8-5 win over Millikin's Paul Heuer in the consolation semifinals at No. 7 singles.

In doubles, Collins and freshman Lucas Rudd (Edwardsville, Ill.-Edwardsville) secured a main-draw doubles win, defeating Mathew Elliot and William Horton of Wheaton, 8-5 at No. 4 doubles.

The Titans take on day two of the CCIW Individuals tomorrow, Sept. 12. Matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Live results can be followed here. Full results will be available on iwusports.com at the conclusion of the tournament.
