Men’s Tennis Celebrates Senior Day Against Wheaton

IWU to recognize five student-athletes

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team celebrates the class of 2026 when they host College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Wheaton College Saturday, April 25. Action is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Evergreen Racquet Club with Senior Day festivities scheduled for 3:45 p.m.

Prior to the match, the team will recognize seniors Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington), Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter), Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora), and Sebastian Rasquin (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South), along with junior Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) who is graduating early.

Illinois Wesleyan (9-9, 1-5 CCIW) is coming off of a 6-1 defeat at Millikin University Tuesday, April 21. Vigneri collected the lone win for IWU at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-7 (1), 10-7 win over Gillian Nahum. The day before, IWU blanked Elmhurst University Monday, April 20, winning 7-0. 

Wheaton (5-9, 2-3 CCIW) dropped a 5-2 decision to CCIW regular season champion North Central College Tuesday, April 21. This was the second straight loss for the Thunder after they fell to second-place Carthage College, 7-0, Saturday, April 18. WC will take on Millikin University Friday, April 24 before heading up Route 51.
