BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team blanked College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Elmhurst University, 7-0, Monday, April 20. The Titans improve to 8-9 (1-4 CCIW), while the Bluejays fall to 0-8 (0-7 CCIW).

In doubles action, the top tandem of seniors Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter) and Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora) cruised to a 6-0 win over Santiago Hurtado and Adrian Songco to clinch the doubles point after EU forfeited No. 3 doubles. Freshmen Will Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) and Truman Raher (Peoria, Ill.-Richwoods) earned a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles to secure the sweep.

In singles play, IWU extended its lead to 3-0 with forfeits at the five and six lines. Vigneri clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Hurtado at the top singles spot. Junior Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) made it a 5-0 Illinois Wesleyan advantage with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Caden Sultzbaugh at No. 2 singles. Seconds later, Ehrlich closed a 6-3, 6-1 match over Songco at three singles. Senior Sebastian Rasquin (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) sealed the sweep with a 6-0, 7-5 triumph against Puchalla.

The Titans are back in action tomorrow, April 21, at Millikin University. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
