Men’s Tennis Drops Road Contest at Augie

Vigneri collects singles win

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team fell to Augustana College, 6-1, in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match Thursday, April 16, in Rock Island, Ill. The Titans slide to 8-8 (0-4 CCIW) while the Vikings improve to 8-9 (3-2 CCIW).

Augustana swept the doubles slate to take the one point decision. In singles action, senior Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter) earned the lone IWU win with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 victory over Santiago Diaz at No. 1 singles.

The Titans are back in action, Monday, April 20 at home against Elmhurst University in a match that was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 18. First serve from Evergreen Racquet Club on Monday is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
