Men’s Tennis Falls at Carroll

Hammond picks up singles point

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team dropped its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match on the road at Carroll University, 6-1, Friday night, April 10. The Titans take a step back to 8-6 on the season and 0-2 in CCIW play.

Senior Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) secured the lone single point for IWU playing in the No. 3 position, defeating CU's Ulrich Gellein in an electric 3-6, 6-2, and 13-11 match.

Junior Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) and freshman Will Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) picked up a win at No. 2 doubles, battling the Pios pair of Gellein and David Eman to a 6-4 victory.

The Titans continue their Wisconsin swing with a morning date with Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis. Saturday, April 11. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
