Women’s Golf Completes Round One at Westbrook Invitational

Zera lone Titan in top-15 individually

PEORIA, Ariz. - The No. 22 Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team sits in seventh place at the Westbrook Invitational, hosted by George Fox University, after carding a day-one score of 317 Saturday, March 7 at the par-71, 5810-yard Westbrook Village Golf Course in Peoria, Ariz. 

Sophomore Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) led IWU, carding a five-over par, 76, highlighted by three birdies. Junior Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North) was close behind, recording a six-over par, 77. 

Alisa Ching of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps leads the tournament on the individual side, carding a first-round three-under, 68. Ching led the CMS squad to a 21-stroke advantage after day one, as the Athenas recorded a team score of 284. 

Tee times for the final round, tomorrow Sunday, March 8, will begin at 8:30 a.m. from Westbrook Village Golf Course. Live scoring can be found here.
